A year has somehow passed since we lost Prince, certainly one of the greatest artists our generation will ever know. Beyond being one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, he was a thrilling songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, dancer, actor, director, fashion icon, provocateur, businessman, and about a billion other things too. On the first anniversary of his death, Wet Thud looks back through the Purple One's discography and ranks his forty best--no small undertaking given how prolific Prince was, releasing nearly an album a year during his four decades in the industry. That's not even taking into account the troves of bootlegs, and unreleased material contained within Prince's "vault," which could have easily lead to this list being a Top 4000.
